This is spot on. I’ve been struggling with presenting my ideas in a linear way when it comes to longer articles. I'm hopeful as I write more and more this will get better.

People say it's hard to be concise, and that's why short form is harder.

I say it's much harder to be concise while doing long form! When you're writing tens of thousands of words, can you still ensure each word earns its place and maintains clarity?

If you're doing this on topics you're still learning about as you go, pushing yourself outside your comfort zone, this never gets easy. Just easIER. (Same like trading!)

And that's the great thing about both :)

But you'll always improve. And that's what this style of writing is all about, again, like trading. Constant attempts to improve.

That resistance (struggle) you feel is a good sign you're on the right track!

Instead of focusing on the length of the article, I'm writing down the many different ideas that I am now getting and not worrying about the length. Eventually I want to be comfortable enough to try and combine ideas and make a long form article which is well written and structured.

That's the way! Plan what you want to cover, then cover it in as many words as needed — and no more.

Guests often ask me about word counts. I always tell them to not worry about it: just as many words as needed, and I can help them edit/cut it down.

Writing is rarely 'too long' if it holds the reader's attention throughout.
